Where insufficient data was available to provide figures beyond an estimate and description of the London-wide resource, a 'Habitat Statement' was produced in place of a 'Habitat Audit'. Habitat Statements are briefer sections, which nevertheless follow the rationale and layout described for the Habitat Audits.

The intention is to identify some of the threats and opportunities for habitat conservation in order to encourage debate and comment that inform the next stage of the biodiversity action planning process.
