Draft paper produced by NM - the Board provided detailed comments and NM agreed to redraft for Steering Group on 9^th Oct. Action NM

One received from the Habitats, Species and Data Topic Group from 4^th Sept:

1. James announced his decision to return to the GLA to take up the vacant post left open for him following secondment to the Partnership. His GLA post will commence on 1^st Jan 2001. NM reported that it was RSPB's intention to draw up recruitment papers for James's replacement in time for Bridge House's funding decision (19^th Oct). The Board expressed its regrets that James was leaving, thanked him for all his work and wished him well at the GLA.
2. The draft HAPs and SAPs had been sent out for consultation, with the exceptions of: Canals; tidal Thames; gardens; chalk grassland; and adder. Hopefully these would be out for consultation soon.
3. December conference. Ideas consolidated. Possibility of putting it back slightly (into Jan.?), will officially wait until Bridge House decision before changing time of conference. James hoping to recruit person to help with conference - using 1K of budget. James inquired of possibility of EN funding for conference - NR to ask Margaret Grindle. Action NR
